Financial advisers at a wealth management and financial advice licensee couldn't quickly find trusted information across large volumes of documents inside their adviser portal. The constraint wasn't just speed it was compliance. Any answer given to an adviser needed to be traceable to approved content and appropriate to that adviser's role, with zero tolerance for a non-compliant or unsourced response. That rules out most off-the-shelf AI chat tools, which either aren't grounded in approved content or aren't permission-aware enough for a regulated setting.

A secure, permission-aware RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) chat agent was embedded directly into the existing adviser portal, rather than standing apart from it as a separate tool. Approved content was indexed into a secure vector store, and every answer the agent gives is grounded in that approved content not generated freely and scoped to the individual adviser's role via SSO. The system is retrieval-only meaning no model training or fine-tuning on your data and model-swappable, with guardrails and a token sanitisation layer built in, so governance isn't an add-on; it's built into how the agent is allowed to answer in the first place.
